Our Featured Video: BT Students on CBS News

Take a peek at the Featured Video on BT's homepage. On the Road with Steve Hartman, a nationally broadcast show on CBS aired a special segment for Martin Luther King weekend featuring our 2016-17 Bear Tavern Students! The show chronicled how our students surprised our friends, Reverend and Mrs. Caldwell, for their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Students wrote letters to the Mt. Airy Casino and Resort and provided the Caldwell's with a 'redo' of their Honeymoon. It is very exciting for all of us and we could not be more proud of our students.

Day of Service with Christine's Hope 1/12/2018

We are gearing up for our Second Annual "Day of Service" at Bear Tavern with Christine's Hope for Kids on Friday. This year, we have set the goal of helping our local community as well as reaching out a helping hand to Katherine Smith Elementary School, in Houston, Tx.

Friday we'll be talking as a school about how we can make a difference for others - those who live in our community and those far away. After our meeting, each grade level will participate in a special project, many with the help of Christine's Hope for Kids. Students are asked to wear their Bear Tavern shirts that were provided in the beginning of the year, or another BT shirt.

Throughout the day, we'll be packing bags of soup and crackers as well as bags of hot chocolate and scarves for families in the Mercer County community and will be writing letters and making friendship bracelets for students at Katherine Smith to go along with the OVER $2,500 raised from our Piggy Bank Project. In total, we'll be providing over $3,000 of uniform shirts and pants to needy students in Houston.

We are happy that the BT community has donated over 80 cans of soup and almost 800 packets of hot chocolate. We will be collecting soup all the way up until Friday if you'd still like to donate.

It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with 1-hour coding activities but expanding to all sorts of community efforts. At BT, students will participate in a number of fun activities geared toward piquing interest in coding and computer sciences.

Nominating these staff members will give them the recognition they deserve.
Nominations are due to Mr. Turnbull by Fri. December 8th. Nomination forms can be found on the district website and in the main office at BT.
